As long as I can remember I have had two passions in my life. One being education and the other being theatre. Over the past several years I have been fortunate enough to find avenues that allow me to continue my learning and deepen my passions in both areas.
With teaching I have experience working with grade 1-12. My first teaching position took me to England where I worked as a teacher of Social Studies, Religious Studies, PHSE, and Choices. After that I decided to return to my home in Prince Edward Island, Canada where I was a supply teacher for the Easter School Board. Pretty soon my feet got itchy and the desire to travel returned. I applied for and received a position at the Canadian International School in Tokyo, Japan working as Grade 4 teacher. I’m currently in my sixth year at CIS and during that time I have held a variety of positions including being a librarian for two years (only half-time and I taught grade 4 the other half), Grade 3 teacher, and this year I’ve returned to the classroom full time and am teaching Grade 6 for the first time.
Over the past 20 years I have usually been involved in one or two productions a year. At first my passion was only for acting. However, in high school I started Stage Managing and found that I enjoyed the work. Over the years I have worked on several productions and love working with actors to assist them in making their dream come true.
